Introducing Sherman Chiropractor Dr. Norma Haar

I had never been to a chiropractor until I was in my early 30's and suffering from terrible headaches that no medicine would help.

I was selling real estate in Houston and taking courses in main-stream health care when I met a husband-and-wife chiropractor team that changed my life and my career choice. When I saw what they could do without drugs and surgery, I knew that was the path I wanted to take.

I attended Boise State University when I was still trying to decide what I wanted to be when I grew up. After moving to Texas in 1980, I continued my quest for my goal in life and started attending classes at Houston Community College which is about the time I met my chiropractor mentors. Although making a huge career change in mid-life and taking on a big student loan debt was pretty scary, I have never regretted my decision. I attended Texas Chiropractic College and received not only a great education but found my husband, my life partner and my business partner, Dr. Marklin, DC, as well. My son also attended Texas Chiropractic College along with my daughter-in-law.

I enjoy meeting patients that are experiencing chiropractic for the first time because I can truly relate.

I enjoy playing golf and visiting my two granddaughters.

I firmly believe that food can either be your medicine or your poison. We make a conscious choice to eat healthy or unhealthy. By treating the body with respect, giving it the proper nutrition, rest and exercise we will function at our highest level. I have never taken the flu shot for example and I never get the flu. Of course, I also see my chiropractor regularly and on occasion even get an adjustment!

Thanks for visiting our site. I look forward to helping you whether it is your first visit to a chiropractor or your 50th. If you have health issues I am sure we can find a solution either by correcting interference with your nervous system and/or using the nutritional approach.

Dr. Norma, DC Asks some important questions of interest to Sherman residents - Chiropractor Sherman Dr. Norma, DC Asks...

Can someone who has had back surgery receive chiropractic care?
Yes. Rest assured that we will avoid the surgically modified areas of your spine. However, what we find is that surgical interventions will often produce spinal instability above or below the involved level. This is will be the focus of your chiropractic care.
What's the difference between sick care and health care?
Sick care is largely about relieving or suppressing symptoms. Health care is about improving performance. While sick care is about how you feel, health care is about how you function. Sick care is what you do to treat an obvious problem, and health care is what you do to avoid the problem and advance your well-being.
